Celtic hero Chris Sutton can’t resist a laugh at TNT Sports presenter after Rangers Europa League defeat

Rangers are already nine points behind Celtic in the league after just five games.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are joint-top of the table with four wins in five, with Russell Martin’s side ironically being the only opposition that the Hoops couldn’t beat.

The Ibrox side finally got a domestic win on the board last weekend with a win over Hibs. This put them through to the semi-final at Hampden, where they will face Celtic in a showpiece Glasgow Derby.

But just when they’d gotten back to winning ways, they were hit with another defeat at Ibrox on Thursday night in the Europa League against Genk.

A solitary goal from former Hoops man Hyeun-Gyu Oh was what made the difference – and another former Celtic striker couldn’t resist a laugh at one member of the match’s broadcast panel after the game.

The punditry panel for TNT Sports’ live broadcast of the game was Alan Hutton, Scott Arfield and Ally McCoist. It’s fair to say that it wasn’t a happy conversation after the game.

However, it was presenter Emma Dodds that Sutton decided to post about on X.

The conversation after the match inevitably reached the subject of Russell Martin, and the former Hoops man noted that Dodds wasn’t a fan.

You can always rely on a post-match discussion after a Rangers defeat for a good laugh, regardless of how things are going at Celtic.

And despite the Celts only managing a draw against Red Star Belgrade in Serbia on Wednesday, they are still 15 places ahead of their neighbours in the League Phase of the competition.

Celtic will get a look at two of their Europa League opponents against Rangers

Celtic’s next Europa League fixture will see Gustaf Lagerbielke return to Celtic Park, as the Hoops take on Braga.

But two of their other coming opponents will face Rangers as well as the Celts, and Rodgers will get the chance to see how they get on against the Ibrox side.

Should he still be in a job, Martin will face a trip to face Sturm Graz in his next European fixture. The Austrians will then be at Celtic Park for the following matchday.

For Italian giants Roma, two trips to Glasgow are on the calendar. The first will be to Ibrox in November, before the Hoops welcome them a month later.
