The title race is hotting up as Celtic, Hearts and Rangers do battle at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Celtic beat Falkirk knowing that any dropped points would mean that Rangers would have stayed in second place and Hearts could stretch their lead.

A single goal from Benjamin Nygren was enough to take all three points back to Celtic Park and keep pressure on Hearts and Rangers.

Will we hunt Hearts down and win the title?

However, that pressure appears to have spilled over to the pundits on BBC Sportsound as a friendly exchange between John Collins and Allan Preston sparked some hilarity in the studio.

John Collins sets Allan Preston a Celtic challenge after Hearts dig on the BBC

Collins and Preston were pouring over the Celtic and Hearts wins when Preston took a wee swing after hearing something the former Hoops midfielder said before kick-off.

Talking about Hearts’ win over St Mirren, Preston said on BBC Sportsound, “The fans as well, there was a call to arms yesterday by Derek asking for the fans to turn up, and they turned up.

“What a noise they made tonight. They’ve got eight home games left in the league. And I had to laugh at the start of it.

“I was shouting down the mic, John Collins saying Celtic are free-scoring, they’re the goal scorers.

“Hearts have scored more goals than Celtic this year in the league and they’ve conceded less as well, John.

“Yes, two 1-0 wins, but they’ve got two tonight, my pal. OK, let’s get it right.”

Kenny McIntyre, laughing, replied, “Shots fired.”

And Collins hit back, “He’s coming for me.

Preston: “You know me, I’m coming right for you, buddy.”

Collins: “We’ll go for a fiver. A fiver on who wins the league? I’ll take Celtic.”

What Collins was told about Michel-Ange Balikwisha before Celtic strop

Collins was also a big fan of Michel-Ange Balikwisha after he shared what someone at the Belgian FA said about the Celtic winger prior to his big Hoops move.

Collins said, “I’ve got a friend who works for the Belgian FA and works with all the youth teams.

“So he tells me he’s a good football player, good attitude, good striker of the ball and he thinks he’ll be a good purchase. A positive report.”
