Amad Diallo has named Patrick Roberts as one of the three best players he has ever played with.
It’s quite the shoutout for Roberts, given that the Ivorian has been at Old Trafford for six years, albeit including two loan spells.
Diallo spent six months on loan at Ibrox in 2022 as they fell to Ange Postecoglou in the title race in 2022, also falling at the final hurdle in the Europa League.
He scored a sensational goal for Cote d’Ivoire in their narrow defeat to Norway on Tuesday – one that Roberts himself would be proud of.
Who is a loan player you fell ln love with while they were at Celtic?

The pair played together on loan at Sunderland during the 2022-23, excelling under ex-Celtic boss Tony Mowbray.
In a fluid, high-possession system, the pair frequently interchanged as two left-footed players who enjoy cutting in from the right.
Since that loan, Diallo has since gone on to make 97 appearances for Manchester United, where he has now played under five different managers.
Roberts remained on the books at Sunderland, helping them on their run to promotion two years later, but he was instantly disposed of after they achieved this.
Instead of remaining part of the Black Cats’ squad in the top-flight, he reunited with ex-Parkhead assistant Chris Davies at Birmingham City.
There, he has linked up with fellow ex-Celts Tomoki Iwata and Kyogo Furuhashi. They finished tenth in the Championship last season.
🤦♂️ Still no sign of an agreement for either of these two Celtic favourites to stay…

Patrick Roberts’ spell at Celtic
The nimble English winger was brought to the club on an 18-month loan from Manchester City during Ronny Deila’s tenure initially.
After showing flashes of brilliance in his first six months, he hit the next level after Brendan Rodgers’ arrival, scoring a fine goal against his parent club in the Champions League.
As Celtic delivered a historic invincible treble, Roberts scored 11 goals and registered an unbelievable 19 assists.
He extended his loan for another year after immense clamour from the Hoops support, failing to hit the same heights in his final season.
