Departing Celtic hero Tom Rogic was enjoying last night’s UEFA Europa League final between Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Germans broke the hearts of our rivals with a penalty shoot-out win in Seville, with Ajdin Hrustic one of the spot-kick takers.

Rogic is an international teammate of the Socceroo and took to his Instagram stories last night to share his delight at the 25-year-old lifting the trophy with the Bundesliga outfit.

As we discussed earlier, Hrustic was also a former youth prospect of Ange Postecoglou’s beloved team South Melbourne FC, so I’m sure the Bhoys boss was happy for him too!

Rangers supporters have been walking around for weeks asserting the trophy was theirs, disparaging Celtic’s title win and even club legends like the Lisbon Lions in the process.

So it is with great satisfaction many Celtic fans take last night’s result.

Celtic will be looking for an exciting European run next season with Champions League group stage football already guaranteed.

The Bhoys picked up nine points in the group stage of the Europa League campaign before disappointingly going out against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League.

Scottish teams can throw their wait around in European competition, clearly, and it’s up to Postecoglou and the Bhoys to show that next term.

Rogic won’t be part of it, but I’m sure he’ll be looking on fondly wherever he ends up next!
