Celtic may have some other stars lined-up for new contracts after the big Kyogo Furuhashi news.
Kyogo has committed to Celtic until 2027, ending speculation that he could be about to join Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Japanese forward’s new deal makes him one of the long-term contract holders at Celtic. It was a glorious boost to everyone at the club.
He joins the likes of Alistair Johnston, Sead Haksabanovic and Hyeongyu Oh in having at least four years to go. (Transfermarkt)
But not all of our first-team stars have quite as long to run on their current deals.
David Turnbull and Joe Hart both have just 12 months left before they are free agents.

However, for varying reasons, it doesn’t seem like a contract extension announcement for either is imminent.
In 2025, the likes of Carl Starfelt, Greg Taylor, Anthony Ralston, James Forrest and James McCarthy will all see their deals expire.
Given that Kyogo was in that bracket up until recently, it seems likely that our next big contract will come from this group.
Starfelt, Taylor and Ralston have all been important defensive players over the past two years. It would be great to have all three tied down for longer.
Starfelt’s future is an interesting one. There has been no real indication that he’s looking to leave Celtic. However, there seems to be a growing feeling that his days in Glasgow may be numbered.
Taylor and Ralston seem likely to stick around for a little longer. The pair signed new contracts within a few weeks of each other in 2021 and have grown in stature since.

There is unlikely to be the same interest in them as Kyogo, so perhaps there is less of a rush. But it would be nice to get both tied down over the next 12 months.
Looking further ahead, the 2026 expirations include Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada.
McGregor aside, the other five seem unlikely to still be at Celtic in 2026 so this is more about finding the right time to sell to maximise our income.
Kyogo seemed a bit of an outlier in all of this contract chat. Having him tied down until 2027 is a major move from the club.
In other news, Ange Postecoglou will meet the media for the first time as Tottenham Hotspur manager next week
