It has been a season like no other, not just for Celtic, but also for Hearts and Rangers.
For the first time in many people’s lifetimes, Scottish football has a three-way title race heading into the post-split fixtures.
While Hearts and Rangers are dreaming of Premiership glory, Celtic still have a chance to win the domestic double, and Kevin Thomson feels it’s a ‘worry’ for others.
“I suppose that’s a worry for everybody else, in the respect that they haven’t been playing well and they are still in the hunt for two trophies,” said Thomson.
It perhaps showcases the power of Celtic that, during a season of such turmoil and abject performances, they could still repeat what they did under Brendan Rodgers last season.

Celtic still pushing for a double will ‘worry’ Hearts and Rangers
If Celtic lift the Premiership title and the Scottish Cup in May, then they have Martin O’Neill to thank because, without him, this campaign would have been a complete write-off.
That’s one of the big advantages Celtic hold over their title rivals, the know-how in the dugout, as well as on the pitch with players like Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, Kieran Tierney and Reo Hatate, who have won trophies for fun in Scotland.
But Celtic’s narrow Premiership win over St Mirren on Saturday was just another sign that, if it does happen, it’s going to be a very, very ugly grind.
The champions of Scotland will lock horns with St Mirren again at the weekend, this time at Hampden, with the winner facing either Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline Athletic or free-scoring Falkirk in the Scottish Cup final.
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland (12/04/26), Thomson perhaps voiced the fear many in Scotland will have about Celtic, and that’s ‘still hunting’ despite everyone agreeing about how woeful it has been.
“If I were a betting man, then I would bet Celtic would win against St Mirren (in the Scottish Cup semi-final),” said Thomson. “I don’t think they have been at their brilliant best.
“All the Celtic fans would say that. I think even Martin O’Neill would say that. Maybe even the players. They probably haven’t hit the heights that we are used to seeing from a brilliant Celtic team.
“But they are still there. They are still hunting. They could still win a cup and league double. It could still be a good season for them.
“I suppose that’s a worry for everybody else, in the respect that they haven’t been playing well and they are still in the hunt for two trophies.”
