Celtic learn dates for 2026/27 season, including Scottish Premiership, Cup and Premier Sports Cup

Celtic have learned when their 2026/27 campaign will begin next season.

We’re not even done and dusted with this current iteration but plans have already been made to ensure teams are up to speed.

That will be Wilfried Nancy’s first full season in charge of the Bhoys, and he will hopefully head into it off the back of a trophy-laden year.

So get those diaries out and make a note of when the dates are for the new season.

When does the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership season start?

Next season will start earlier than usual, despite the 2026 World Cup taking place in the summer beforehand.

All four Scottish leagues will begin on the weekend of 1 and 2 August 2026, meaning that there will only be 13 days separating the World Cup final and the new season.

There will also be no winter break imposed, which has been a common theme these past three seasons.

The final weekend of the year will be on 15 and 16 May 2027.

When does the 2026/27 Scottish Cup start?

Dates for 2026-27 the Scottish Cup will be arranged by the Scottish Football Association in the near future.

When does the 2026/27 Premier Sports Cup start?

The Premier Sports Cup first-round group stage will take place from 11-26 July 2026, with the final scheduled for 13 December 2026.

If Celtic win the league or qualify for Europe, they will be exempt from the group stage and begin to compete from the second round.
