Celtic’s pursuit of another striker appears to be continuing this summer.
With Shin Yamada close to his Celtic move, it seems like Brendan Rodgers is still looking for an adequate replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi.
The Celtic manager has already added Callum Osmand and has Adam Idah in his ranks for the new season ahead.
However, reports from Romania suggest that Rodgers is not stopping there after Celtic apparently had a £6.9m bid rejected for the country’s top goalscorer last season.

Celtic’s £6.9m bid for CFR Cluj striker Louis Munteanu rejected
Louis Munteanu is a striker who joined CFR Cluj from Fiorentina last summer for £1.7m. The former Romanian u21 international striker made an immediate impact with 25 goals in his first season.
That led the 23-year-old to be crowned the country’s top goalscorer as Munteanu’s goals helped Cluj win the Romanian Cup and finish second in the league.
Romanian outlet iAMSport says Celtic have had an €8m (£6.9m) bid rejected as French Ligue 1 clubs Lille and Nice circle.
Munteanu’s agent is believed to want double the price Celtic offered with the Romanian club said to be asking for just over €10m (£8.6m) for their star striker.
The striker was the star of the show in last season’s 3-2 win in the Romanian Cup final scoring Cluj’s second goal and providing an assist for the winner. He also scored in Cluj’s 3-0 win over Paksi in last night’s Europa League qualifier.
Celtic target Luis Munteanu’s impressive youth spell with Fiorentina
Munteanu also played for Fiorentina in the early days of his career, winning the Italian Youth Super Cup and the Coppa Italia Youth Cup twice.
The Romanian made 40 appearances for the Primavera side scoring 13 goals.
Across his whole career, the striker has scored 68 goals in 175 appearances and has netted 17 youth international goals for Romania from u16 to u21 level.
