Celtic winger Liel Abada has been named on a prestigious 40-man list by UEFA of youngsters who are expected to take ‘European football by storm’ in 2023.
The 21-year-old is viewed as a rising talent with great potential after showcasing his terrific ability in his first 18 months at Parkhead.
After arriving from Maccabi Petah Tikva in his homeland last summer, the Israeli international has gone on to become a key player in Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Alongside his club breakthrough, the young attacker has also become a consistent member of the Israeli international squad and is regarded as one of the stars of the future for his nation.
His first campaign in Glasgow saw Abada produce incredible numbers in front of goal, which included 15 goals and 11 assists in 54 games. The winger’s contributions saw him awarded the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year.
Abada has continued his rapid rise into the 2022/23 campaign, scoring nine goals and collecting four assists after 27 games on the domestic and European front as he aims to match last season’s impressive tally.
His form for club and country has already caught the eye of clubs from across Europe, including the English Premier League, with reports suggesting the likes of Southampton are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.
And he has clearly impressed those at UEFA, who have decided to include him in the prestigious list of 40 young players who are predicted to take ‘European football by storm’ in 2023.
The list which consists of players who are the age of 21 or under at the beginning of the year, has previously named the likes of Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Mykhailo Mudryk amongst Europe’s best youngsters.

And in the 2023 addition, Liel Abada is named alongside breakout stars such as Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, who recently took the World Cup by storm.
It is quite the compliment for Abada to be named as one of 40 top talents from across Europe who are expected to achieve big things this year.
Of course, Abada has already achieved plenty in a Celtic shirt at such a young age. But, he will now be looking to take his game to the next level under Ange Postecoglou as he continues to mature.
The network of reporters, correspondents and editors from across Europe who brought together this list clearly believe the Celtic man will have a big 2023.
Here’s hoping we can continue to see Abada developing as a player, helping the Hoops achieve more trophy success, before attempting to make an impact in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
