Celtic must prepare themselves to go head first in their pursuit of Greg Taylor.
That’s because Sunderland have had an opening bid rejected in the region of £1 million according to the Scottish Sun.
Taylor’s parent club Kilmarnock are holding out for a reported £3 million for the left-back.
The Bhoys are in dire need for a left sided defender since Kieran Tierney moved to Arsenal last month.
Celtic have competition for Greg Taylor
If Celtic are going to make a successful bid then they better do it quickly.
Sunderland’s opening bid is actually a positive as it shows everyone that Killie aren’t mucking around.

Celtic know if they pay the Ayrshire side £3 million then they will have him.
The Hoops cannot go on any longer with one recognised left-back in Boli Bolingoli. The jury is still out on the £3 million summer buy from Rapid Vienna, but even at that, he is still not enough.
Celtic raked in £25 million for Tierney from Arsenal which partly should go on reinforcements.
Celtic are also at a disadvantage when it comes to facing up to Sunderland with Scotsman Jack Ross as gaffer.

Ross will know the quality of Taylor has and also has the financial power of English football behind him.
Are Celtic focusing on other targets?
Other than Taylor, it’s only really been Birger Meling that has had links to the Hoops.
Meling’s Rosenborg were knocked out the Champions League on Tuesday by Dinamo Zagreb.
This would have been the ultimate push for The Bhoys to get their man, yet there is silence on that front.

The Hoops’ latest acquisition of Moritz Bauer from Stoke City went under the radar.
Could it be that the next signing will come in a similar manner without a whisper in the press?
Fans will certainly hope so but ultimately don’t care how the news is found out, as long as their is a suitable player brought into the position.
Failure to do that means that Neil Lennon and co deserve everything that will come to them this season.
