Celtic must be interested in Jindrich Trpisovsky after showing up Rodgers and now Gerrard

The Jindrich Trpisovsky to Celtic hype train keeps on rolling.

His Slavia Prague side have knocked Rangers out of the Europa League tonight, just weeks after they did the same to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City side.

If that’s not enough to catch your attention as a Celtic supporter, then I don’t know what to tell you!

Surely it’s also enough to put him on the radar of the decision-makers at Celtic Park?

We’ve written about Trpisovsky’s Celtic potential many times on 67 Hail Hail previously. For our ragtag group, he should be one of the front-runners nevermind a dark horse. I’ve even learned to spell his name without looking it up.

There’s a reality that his stock may even already be beyond Celtic given his progress with the Czech outfit. However, people are saying that about Jesse Marsch too and he certainly seems keen.

Trpisovsky is also a big fan of Scottish football. Just saying.

If Celtic are serious about showing ambition next season then they could do a lot worse than Trpisovsky.

Winning multiple titles in his homeland, as well as taking Slavia to the Champions League group stages and now deep into the Europa League on two occasions, he’s ticking almost all the boxes we need from a new first-team head coach.

His Slavia Prague team are full of energy, purpose, skill and organisation. They are a European dream. They deservedly go through at the expense of Rangers.

As Michael Stewart said on BBC Scotland tonight [21:44]: “I’ve not seen a side tactically out-smart Rangers in a long time and Slavia have done that. You look at the result against Leicester and now Rangers and you’d fancy them against anyone in this competition.”

That’s enough in my book to continue the Trpisovsky hype, even if he’s not been officially linked with the vacant Celtic position.

Spread the word and make the noise!

In other news, Jim Goodwin has confirmed Celtic’s interest in young St Mirren talent Dylan Reid.
