Celtic have launched the 2023/24 Adidas home kit this morning, confirming leaks that have been emerging over the last few weeks.

As expected, the green and white hoops feature a bold design, with black Adidas branding all over the shoulders and down the kit’s sides. The club have published full photos and details of the kit on the official website.

The club say in their promotional material that the kit “features a modern twist on the traditional hoops, with elements of the glass pattern from the original entrance to the stadium included, offering a nod to the long and rich history of our great club.”

The home kit range will go on sale, officially, from 13th July and is available to pre-order now. A standard, adult, short-sleeved home shirt with a sponsor will set you back £70, with sponsorless versions also available for the same price.

Such a radical departure from what we usually see with the hoops will no doubt raise some eyebrows. To date, the design has not gone down universally well nor has been as well received as a lot of other Adidas offerings over the last few years.

The club have already released a black away kit, which is at least popular, with a third kit expected to be released later this summer.

It’s believed that Celtic and Adidas will also be releasing a special edition home jersey later in the year with a much more minimalistic look akin to the anniversary Scotland top.

Per leaks, the badge will be whited out, while the green and white hoops will be unaltered or tampered with. It should be a much more crowd-pleasing effort.
