It seems extremely likely that Celtic Park will be breaking its record for a women’s match tomorrow night.

Fran Alonso’s Hoops are in SWPL action against Glasgow City and know that three points are required to keep their title hopes alive.

But they’re set to be backed by a major crowd for the game at our 60,000 home.

The match is free for season ticket holders and ultras groups have united to throw their weight behind the big clash.

With no other games at Celtic Park until May 20, it is hoped that the fixture will be able to attract a bumper crowd. The signs are good.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Celtic FC Women Twitter account posted to say that further tickets had been released for the game “due to great demand”.

They also mentioned the likelihood of a “historic crowd”.

This is something that North Curve Celtic also referenced in their tweet. The fans group said that the fixture was “on track for a record attendance.”

Given the buzz around this game, it seems likely that that figure will be surpassed.

The overall record for a domestic women’s match is the 8,066 that took in a Hibernian vs Hearts match last November. (She Kicks)

That number may be tough to beat but you wouldn’t totally write Thursday’s match off in that regard.

67 Hail Hail will be in attendance at the game and we’ll have plenty of stuff going out on the website, socials and YouTube channel.
