Celtic are playing with fire if Scott Sinclair leaves

Celtic should aim to keep Scott Sinclair at the club on a longer contract.

If the winger leaves then the decision is clear from Neil Lennon.

The Englishman is being linked with a move away in recent days. However, even if the Irishman isn’t a fan, his influence is key on the first team.

Celtic better keeping Scott Sinclair

The rumour mill was running rife over the last few days about Sinclair going to Preston North End.

A loan move was rubbished, however, and his ability cannot be understated.

Celtic need to be careful if they are to sell Sinclair in this window.

He has scored so many goals and provided many assists that have helped the Hoops to the treble treble.

Sinclair’s performances may have dipped to the naked eye but on paper he is still on fire.

Lennon and co will have a tough time on their hands trying to fill the void a Sinclair hole will make. It’s the difference between nine-in-a-row or nothing at all.

However, if the trophy-laden winger’s future is over then replacements have massive shoes to fill. Alternatively, will another winger even be on Lennon’s mind?

Replace or not replace Scott Sinclair?

Brendan Rodgers said back in January the club have a million wingers.

That comment didn’t go down well with some fans, but it is the case looking at the numbers.

With Lewis Morgan coming back and signing Maryan Shved, the tally is only increasing.

Mikey Johnston is the early star of the season and is taking Sinclair’s mantle.

However, goals are lacking and it’s a heavy ask for Johnston to reproduce Sinclair’s goals and assists.

Lennon could be happy with all he has now and focus on rebuilding other aspects of the team.

If a replacement did arrive and he failed to make the same impact as Sinclair, a lot of questions would be asked.
