Celtic have released the first photos of Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi back in training at Lennoxtown following his hamstring injury.

Kyogo has been out of action since December after fighting through weeks of muscle problems in an effort to help out his team and win matches.

Now, after a period of significant rest and rehabilitation, he’s again ready to go. And Celtic have released a collection of images sure to delight supporters.

Given the length of time he has been absent, it still feels slightly unrealistic we will see him in from the start against Rangers at Ibrox.

However, it’s a given that he’ll be included in the match squad in some capacity and even having him on the bench will be a significant boost for the team and our supporters. Knowing he can come into the match and brighten things up is significant.

The manager has Giorgos Giakoumakis to go with from the start anyway, a striker who is in excellent goalscoring form of his own.

For me, it’s not that difficult of a decision and it’s not something we should overthink. Giakoumakis is in form, Kyogo is lacking match fitness – let’s go with what we have that force a situation that could backfire.

Regardless, it’s absolutely brilliant to see Kyogo back amongst the group and I have no doubt he will have a massive part to play in the remaining games of the season.
