Celtic have been dragged into the conversation around MLS coaches again after the disastrous spell of Wilfried Nancy.
The Frenchman lasted just eight games, losing six of them, having been brought to Glasgow from Columbus Crew after a push by Paul Tisdale.
His damning Celtic spell was detrimental to the reputation of MLSβ¦ and has now been compounded by Eric Ramsayβs ill-fated spell at West Brom.
The 34-year-old Englishman has been sacked after just nine matches at West Brom, having been brought in from Minnesota United in the Sttes.
What has Wilfried Nancyβs Celtic tenure done to your expectations for the Hoopsβ next appointment?
Alan Brazil and Charlie Austin on Wilfried Nancy and Eric Ramsay
Reacting to Ramsayβs premature sacking at The Hawthorns, Charlie Austin said on talkSPORT: βWest Brom and Leicester are down there, itβs quite shockingβ¦ When you look at that appointment [of Ramsay], that was wrong.
βIt doesnβt matter how you look at it, the pedigree wasnβt there, to go to a club like West Brom, go to the Championshipβ¦ it really wasnβt.

βThey keep rolling the dice. Itβs a gamble theyβve taken, and unfortunately, that theyβre going to pay the price for.β
Alan Brazil said: βCharlie, I said earlier: why are we getting these American coaches? What is going on? Itβs like them coming over here for a baseball coach! Get lost!β
Austin replied: βI think people have watched Ted Lasso and got carried away, if Iβm honest!
βBut in all seriousness, I donβt get it. For a club like Celtic, what theyβve done with Wilfried Nancyβ¦ itβs painful.
βI know [Ally McCoist] doesnβt mind that one, but itβs painful, letβs be honest. That appointment that Celtic made could cost them the title up there.
βThe West Brom one could cost them Championship football. They could be going to League One.β
In an eerily similar sequence of events to Nancyβs in Glasgow, Ramsayβs football was criticised as he failed to win any of his nine matches in charge of the Baggies.

Wilfried Nancyβs short Celtic spell
Nancyβs start to life at Celtic was daunting on paper β and in the end, the worst-case scenario was exactly what played out.
After OβNeillβs run of wins in his interim spell, Nancy lost 2-1 to Hearts, 3-0 to Roma and 3-1 to St Mirren in his first week.
This was bruising enough, and after a 1-0 defeat to Dundee United, fans were already calling for him to be sacked.
Wins over Aberdeen and Livingston weathered the storm and showed better signs on the pitch β but in a crucial week of games against Motherwell and Rangers, two more defeats sealed Nancyβs fate.
