The words ‘You Will Never Walk Alone’ are synonymous with Liverpool and Celtic, and they are especially poignant now, given this tragic news.

Celtic sent their ‘deepest condolences’ to Diogo and Andre’s family and friends.

This is the message Celtic posted on social media:

Cristiano Ronaldo’s touching tribute to Portugal teammate Jota

Only last month, Jota was lifting another trophy in his professional career when Portugal beat Spain in the UEFA Nations League final.

Jota came off the bench for that match, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who played alongside him, sent a touching tribute to his team-mate on Instagram.

‘It doesn’t make any sense,’ wrote Ronaldo. ‘Just now, we were together in the National Team, just now you were married.

‘To your family, to your wife and children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them. R.I.P. Diogo and Andre, we will all miss you.’
