Celtic are set for a pretty quiet pre-season schedule after an update was offered by the club’s SLO.
The Hoops have so far confirmed three high-profile friendly matches for the summers as the Brendan Rodgers era gets off the ground.
In mid-July we will face Yokohama F. Marinos and Gamba Osaka in Japan, while Athletic Club will visit Celtic Park on the first day of August.
The club were also due to be playing in South Korea, but yesterday announced that wouldn’t be happening due to frustrations with organisers.
With just three fixtures confirmed at present, a Twitter user reached out to SLO John Paul Taylor and asked whether more matches would be announced.
“There are no others games planned,” tweeted Taylor in response.

Reports in Portugal had suggested that Celtic would be due to face top-flight side Portimonense in back-to-back matches.
That does still seem likely, but the matches will probably be low-key affairs played in front of little or no crowds, and possibly not even broadcast by Celtic TV.
We’ll have to wait for news from the club with regards to that. The three main matches are likely to be much easier to catch.

While three matches does seem like a pretty sparse schedule, it will at least give the team some added time on the training ground with their new manager.
There will be a ten day gap between the Gamba Osaka and Athletic Club matches, with our Premiership opener against Ross County four days after the latter.
In other news, the signing of Hyun-jun Yang is only a matter of time for Celtic, according to a report
