Celtic continue their brilliant Champions League journey even after losing to Aston Villa.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers watched his side put in a battling display to earn the Bhoys a Champions League playoff tie against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid next month.
Celtic’s defeat at Villa Park meant that the Hoops suffered only their second defeat of the campaign with the first being at Borussia Dortmund in the 7-1 loss at Signal Iduna Park.
With Celtic in the draw for the next round, the Parkhead club have made football pundit motor-mouth’s Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara look foolish as their comments after the Hoops’ defeat in Germany resurfaced.

Jason Cundy & Jamie O’Hara’s embarrassing Celtic rant haunts motor-mouth duo
After the full-time whistle blew in Dortmund, Cundy and O’Hara went on a Celtic rant that now looks extremely foolish and embarrassing.
Cundy said on talkSPORT, “Every single Champions League night around this time Celtic get it in the neck mate, they’re embarrassing Scottish and British football.”
O’Hara: “We have this conversation every time. It’s not their fault. They can’t compete. We end up going round in circles. Celtic are a big club in Scotland. They don’t have the facilities to attract top players.”
Cundy: “The big teams are getting stronger and stretching away. So much more money in Germany and the elite leagues and it’s not Celtic’ sport’s fault. I just not their fault, mate. Unfortunately for them this year, they can’t go down into the Europa League. Normally, they embarrass themselves in that competition as well.”
O’Hara: “They’ve got eight games. They’re gonna get a lot out of it and they’re gonna be in it every year because they win the league every year at the moment. They’re not good enough.”
Where does Celtic stand in Europe compared to Tottenham and Chelsea
Celtic are amongst the best 32 teams in Europe after making the Champions League playoff round.
As for Cundy’s Chelsea and O’Hara’s Tottenham, where do both clubs stand after Sky Sports reported the Stamford Bridge club spent £219m in the summer and Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs splashed out £133.5m?
Spurs are sitting 6th in the Europa League as the Premier League club seeks automatic qualification (which is still not guaranteed) in UEFA’s second-tier competition.
As for Chelsea, well they are slumming it in the Europa Conference League against teams like Cypriot’s Omonia Nicosia, a Romanian club called Petrocub and Hearts.
Both pundits should focus on their own teams before trying to criticise Celtic who are playing against teams levels above their own.
