Celtic really are going global with their plan to make our club an appealing choice for budding young stars.

Back in March, we discussed on 67 Hail Hail how the Celtic Soccer Academy where planting roots in Japan to take advantage of our growing popularity in the country.

Former Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou started the popularity ball rolling with his appointment from Yokohama F Marinos and then continued it with the signings of Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yusuke Ideguchi.

The Academy toured Tokyo, Fukuoka and Hiroshima teaching basic skills to Japan’s stars of the future. The camps promised to teach technique, top tricks and teamwork in an initiative that has been backed by Kyogo, Hatate, Maeda and Ideguchi.

And now, to build on that, the Acadamy is visiting the United States of America where the first week of their tour has just concluded.

The first week of the tour took place in the north of Dallas, Texas where the club hooked up with their affiliate NTX Celtic FC.

The next stop of the tour takes the Academy to South Carolina where they will work closely with Easly Soccer Club and YMS Soccer in Pennsylvania.

This is a fantastic initiative that not only promotes Celtic around the globe but also gives vital and expert coaching to youngsters who have ambitions to make it in football whether it be the men’s or women’s game.
