The Celtic squad braced the freezing cold Scottish weather this afternoon as the Bhoys returned to training at Lennoxtown.
After a warm-weather training camp in Portugal last week, Ange Postecoglou’s squad were greeted with sub-zero temperatures at the training complex.
But that didn’t stop them getting back to work ahead of the return to competitive action this coming weekend against Aberdeen.
Monday afternoon’s session at Lennoxtown marked the return for some of the Hoops World Cup heroes, who returned from Qatar.
Both Cameron Carter-Vickers and Aaron Mooy were back amongst the first team group, following an exciting few weeks in Qatar with the USA and Australia.
There were also two new faces taking to the field at Lennoxtown, as January additions Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnston joined their new teammates.
Kobayashi has spent the past week getting used to the squad, having been with Postecoglou’s side out in Portugal.
However, for Johnston, it was his first session as a Celtic player after his own World Cup venture with Canada, where he came up against Hoops defender Josip Juranovic.
Both players look to be settling in nicely to their surroundings, getting down to work ahead of becoming available to make their debuts from the 1st of January.
There were also the usual faces amongst the group at Lennoxtown, with first-team players including Callum McGregor, Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota all being spotted in the video produced by the club’s media team.
For many, it may have taken some time to acclimatise to the cold weather as they came out onto the training pitch, visibly feeling the effects.
Although it might have been a far cry from the warm weather out in Portugal last week, I am sure the Bhoys are buzzing to be back out there and preparing for a return to action this weekend.
Overall, it was good to see the regular faces, some of the returning World Cup stars and also some new additions getting down to work before the second half of the campaign gets underway.
