Alistair Johnston is acclimatising himself to life in Scotland by sitting down to catch up on legendary sitcom Still Game.
The Canadian international joined Celtic during the January transfer window and is already a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s Bhoys team.
His all-action style has quickly made him a hit with supporters and it seems he wants to brush up on the Glaswegian accent with a look at the hit Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill show on Netflix, per his Instagram stories.

Whether he’s taken the recommendation from teammates such as Greg Taylor, or simply the wider Celtic support is unknown – but he’ll soon be well aware of plenty of slang words and humour known well to fans!
We’ll have to wait and see if it influences his patter in media appearances. We already know he is far from shy. He’s already building an amusing double act with Taylor.
Last month, after just minutes in a Celtic shirt he also declared he loves ‘smashing’ opponents, following a debut at Ibrox.
In all seriousness, Johnston has been a crucial signing even in his short time at the club. Josip Juranovic’s exit naturally opened up a slot at right-back, but the Canadian has been especially needed due to Anthony Ralston’s injury status.
The Scottish international is back in Celtic training but has been out of action for weeks. He is expected to compete with Johnston for the full-back slot from this week onwards.
Postecoglou has challenged both players to step up to the levels Juranovic showed and the early signs suggest that Johnston is more than capable of becoming a mainstay of the squad.
It should be onwards and upwards from here.
