Kyogo Furuhashi has returned Celtic teammate Tom Rogic’s favour, sharing a picture of the two to his now 150k followers on Instagram. It makes him one of the most popular players at the club in terms of social media, although he’s still got catching up to do with ex-England ‘keeper Joe Hart.

The Japanese striker has seemingly picked out his favourite number 10 at Celtic. Kyogo and Rogic did battle in World Cup Qualifying, with the Samurai Blue ending Australia’s 11-game Qualifying win streak [Fox Australia].

After Rogic posted a picture of the duo sharing a post-game embrace, Kyogo has returned the favour [Instagram]. Maybe it’s not a huge deal, but it hints at how well the new Bhoy is getting on with his teammates. Even when they’re not in the same colours.

Tom Rogic wasn’t his imperious best on the night, unfortunately. The Socceroo, now with 50 caps for his country [Instagram], earned middling reviews from the Australian press. A 6 was mustered by Sporting News, while Fox gave him a 5.5.

Furuhashi, meanwhile, had a very impactful time coming off the bench. He had opportunities of his own late on, and helped to force a winner for the Sumurai Blue, who were coming off a 1-0 loss to Saudi Arabia.

For Celtic, meanwhile, it’ll be interesting to see if the off-pitch friendship can truly blossom on the pitch. There have been some excellent moments between the pair for the Bhoys, but a long-term partnership between the 10 and the striker would delight supporters.

Celtic stars Kyogo and Rogic remain popular with supporters

It’s quite funny to see Mat Ryan at the bottom of that picture. The Aussie goalkeeper was heavily linked to a move to Celtic in the summer, even hinting that he prefers haggis over paella.

So, maybe it was nearly a trio of Bhoys playing in a Japan v Australia game. Talk about a worldwide audience!

As for Kyogo and Rogic? They’re two players the Celtic fans absolutely love. For Rogic, it’s longevity, big moments and his tendency to score big goals.

Kyogo, meanwhile, has only just arrived. But already, he receives acclaim that a lot of Hoops stars wait years for.

As two technically gifted players, this duo could be a key tandem for Celtic going forward. Rogic has been entrusted with a deeper midfield role, but as a pure number 10, he could be perfect foil for the slippery off-ball movement of Furuhashi.

Either way, the bromance continues unabated. Simply put: you love to see it.
