Celtic midfielder David Turnbull is loving the style of football being developed by manager Ange Postecoglou.

Turnbull arrived as a signing during the Neil Lennon reign and was one of the stand-out players last season, winning the club’s player of the year award.

However, this year it’s about improving again and the Scotland international reckons that Postecoglou’s instructions are helping him develop an important part of his game.

As quoted by The National, he said: “The football he has us playing is brilliant. To watch and to play in. Probably from the point of what he has passed on, it is about going and getting the ball back when things break down.

“He has us working our socks off and when you do you get the rewards, as I think you could see vs Ferencvaros.

“Even when I was at Motherwell it was an area I was focussing on. Since I have come to Celtic it has been an aspect the coaches have really tried to nail down with me, mentioning it every week.

“I think I am doing okay on that front right now, I just need to keep it going.”

Turnbull actually had a fairly difficult start this season. He was one of the players that had to show improvement if Celtic were to find consistency.

In recent weeks however he’s been a key man. The midfielder looks to be relishing all aspects of the Celtic game now and adding this work ethic to his already undoubted creative skills.

With set-pieces improving too, the only way is up for the former Motherwell man.

In other news, Celtic defender Anthony Ralston could end up overcoming all the odds.
