One man who has been crucial to such a great season for the Bhoys is Daizen Maeda, as the Japan star continues to from strength to strength.
Maeda scored a stunning effort against Club Brugge to seal a crucial point for his side during the last home match in the Champions League, including strikes against Slovan Bratislava and Borussia Dortmund earlier on in the campaign.
Less said about that Dortmund match, but those goals have come with a stat that only Maeda can typically top.
Daizen Maeda tops performance list alongside Joshua Kimmich and Erling Haaland

Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland are some of the best and most dangerous players in Europe.
UEFA’s official Twitter account highlighted that by bigging them up in their ‘Fexex Performance Zone’ and Maeda was also on the list.
As you can see below, no player has produced more key deliveries than Kimmich from this season’s Champions League so far (43), but no player has made more sprints than the one from Celtic – a staggering 208!
Who is the fastest player in the Champions League?
Speed is the one that keeps opposing players awake, and when you have serious quality with it, then you can rip apart any team.
To nobody’s surprise, Haaland has proven to be the fastest player in the Champions League this season, with a Celtic player – the ever-improved Nicolas Kuhn – in the top five.
Maeda wasn’t so high up as his teammate, but he has been clocked at a speed of 35.4km/h – the 14th fastest in Europe’s elite competition.
