Celtic striker Adam Idah has declared himself ready to make an impact at the Bhoys despite not being involved in the club’s pre-season preparations.
Idah was at the centre of a protracted transfer tussle between Celtic and Norwich City, with the two clubs eventually agreeing to a £9.5m deal to push through his dream move.
The striker came off the bench last week against Hibernian to get some much-needed minutes and he’s in line to feature more prominently against St Mirren on Sunday.
Despite the perception that he’s not had a strong summer preparing for the new campaign, Idah feels in a good place to kickstart his permanent Celtic career.
Idah ‘trained hard’ before making Celtic switch
The stiker said [The Times]: “I feel good. There has been a lot said that I have not done much in pre-season, but I did. I was training every day when I was back at Norwich and although I did not play many minutes there, I was training hard every day.
“So I think I have come into Celtic in good shape, and I feel quite sharp. I feel good now. Obviously, I came in wanting to play games — that is the main aim for me. To get as sharp as I can and score some goals.”

Idah wants people to know he’s keen to hit the ground running at Celtic and he’s personally hoping to make the required impact in Paisley.
He added [The Herald]: “As for St Mirren, everyone is looking forward to playing them. We never take any game for granted but you look at this one and it should be a good test for us.
“But, look, we are going there to try and get all three points and play the best we possibly can. I am looking forward to it.”
Realistic targets for Idah at Celtic this season
Having netted nine goals on loan in the second half of last term, hopes are high that Idah can be a consistent scorer at the Bhoys.
Strikers often set the benchmark for their entire season at 20 goals and it’s not unrealistic to expect the Republic of Ireland to achieve that in a Celtic shirt before next summer.
He’s had his period of adjustment, he knows what the Scottish game is all about and he’s proven he can come up big against Rangers and the rest.
There’s a higher expectation this time around but the evidence suggests Idah has the mentality to deal with that and kick on to new heights in his career.
