Celtic targeting duo who ‘shone’ against them as English Premier League club emerges as transfer rival

Celtic are in the market to bolster their academy ranks and could move to sign a promising pair of SPFL kids.

The Hoops have often been criticised for losing top talent from their youth squads with multiple examples down the years.

Barry Hepburn, Josh Adam and Liam Morrison are all examples of young players who have departed Parkhead early for other clubs around Europe.

Daniel Kelly and Rocco Vata are two others who, despite first-team involvement, also chose to leave at a relatively early age.

Now, though, it looks as if there are some more talented teens coming through including the likes of Francis Turley and Daniel Cummings who is flourishing with Stephen McManus’ B team.

And according to journalist Alan Nixon, Celtic are keeping a close eye on Airdrieonians twin pair Dylan and Cole Williams who have impressed scouts in recent times including AGAINST the young Bhoys’ squad.

Neither player has, as yet, represented the Diamonds’ first-team under Rhys McCabe but they are considered highly-rated talents.

According to the same report, both could leave the Championship side where they are currently only on ‘short-term agreements’.

And that could open the door to Celts to bring them to Glasgow.

It won’t be easy for Brendan Rodgers’ club to make the deal happen, however, with English Premier League clubs circling.

West Ham and Southampton also have interest in the SPFL twins

Southampton are credited with an interest but it is West Ham United who are believed to be the signing rivals as the Hammers are admirers of the twins.
