Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic team for this evening’s Scottish Premiership encounter against Hibernian at Easter Road.
The full match squad is as follows:
Starting XI – Bain, Ralston, Starfelt, Kobayashi, Bernabei, Iwata, McGregor, Hatate, Abada, Haksabanovic, Oh.
Substitutes – Hart, Taylor, Kyogo, Turnbull, Jota, O’Riley, Maeda, Forrest, Welsh.
The Hoops are in Edinburgh to take on Europe-chasing Hibernian.
The game may not seem to matter a great deal to us in the grand scheme of things. But Ange will be looking for a reaction after his post-St. Mirren comments.
He has, however, made six changes from that weekend draw.
Scott Bain, Yuki Kobayashi, Alexandro Bernabei, Liel Abada, Sead Haksabanovic and Hyeongyu Oh all come in.
Joe Hart, Greg Taylor, Matt O’Riley, Jota, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda drop out, all to the bench.
Broadcast details
Today’s match has been surprisingly overlooked by Sky Sports with the broadcasters instead choosing to show Rangers vs Hearts.
However, Hibernian are showing the game on their PPV website. A match pass costs £12.99.
Instant verdict on Celtic team vs Hibernian
Given the fact that we have three games in seven days and the league is already in the bag, there was always a chance that Ange would change things up tonight.
Scott Bain hasn’t played a competitive minute for us since a draw at St. Mirren in December 2021, so it is a surprise to see him in.
It’ll be interesting to see if Yuki Kobayashi and Alexandro Bernabei can improve on their Ibrox outing.
It’s a first proper look for fans at a midfield of Callum McGregor, Tomoki Iwata and Reo Hatate which is exciting.
And the front three all looked lively when coming on as substitutes on Saturday.
In other news, Joe Hart was seen wearing the Hoops in a video posted earlier
