Celtic are soon to depart for the United States after completing friendly matches against Ayr United and Queen’s Park on home soil.
While Stateside, the Bhoys will face DC United, Manchester City and Chelsea in a three-game round trip before returning to intensify their preparations ahead of the Scottish Premiership campaign beginning on August 4th against Kilmarnock.
Absorbing as much sharpness as possible over the coming weeks will be the aim for Celtic, with Brendan Rodgers happy to rotate his squad and provide valuable minutes for everyone.
The Hoops are yet to blink in the transfer market; however, his internal pool will keep themselves ticking over nicely ahead of the new season.
Behind-closed-doors friendlies are also likely to take place around the country, and Celtic will now take on an English Championship side as part of their schedule.
Celtic to face Burnley in low-key friendly encounter
Per Burnley FC’s official website, Celtic are one of several opponents set to face the Clarets at their Gawthorpe training ground away from the cameras as Scott Parker’s men get put through their paces ahead of returning to English second-tier action.
Barnsley, Newcastle United, Heart of Midlothian and Leganes will also take on the Lancashire outfit. They haven’t specified when these fixtures will take place, though they will provide preparation for their upcoming Spanish training camp.
On the same token, it isn’t clear if this bounce match will have an impact on the Bhoys’ US tour. In all likelihood, there may be a weakened Celtic side in place against Burnley at Gawthorpe.
