Brendan Rodgers has caused a bit of a stir.
Somehow, the Celtic manager hasn’t just annoyed those outside of Parkhead, but the supporters also, with his ‘Honda Civic’ remark.
After Celtic’s defeat to Dundee on Sunday, Rodgers claimed that he has been given ‘the keys to a Honda Civic’, but has been told to ‘drive it like a Ferrari.’
Not only have those comments not gone down well with the Celtic Park faithful, but Simon Jordan also verbally slammed the Irishman for his actions.

Simon Jordan says Brendan Rodgers is only in it for himself at Celtic
Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan thinks Rodgers is only in it for himself, and now that it ‘no longer suits him to be at Celtic‘, he will be leaving sooner rather than later.
The former Crystal Palace owner didn’t hold back after listening to Rodgers’ ‘Honda Civic’ comments by stating that Celtic had no excuses not to qualify for this season’s Champions League.
“I think Brendan’s a very capable operator,” said Jordan. “But Brendan Rodgers is always and has forever been in the Brendan Rodgers business.
“Now it no longer suits him to be at Celtic because he can’t get precisely what he wants, so I’m sure we’ll see the back of Brendan somewhere during the course of this season, if not during it, but at the back end of it.
“Are you telling me that you want to draw parallels between the teams that knocked you out of the Champions League opportunity and Dundee as to the reasons why you can’t get outcomes?
“It’s not good enough. It’s not good enough. This is a manager who has lost his direction. The comparisons between a Honda Civic, it is silly. He has done it twice now. He has done it three times.”
How Dermot Desmond would have reacted to Rodgers’ ‘Honda Civic’ remark
Rodgers has said quite a lot already this season; he even called a club insider a ‘coward’ for going to the media and seemingly criticising him.
But with there being public silence from Dermot Desmond about anything Celtic do or don’t do, Jordan thinks the majority shareholder would have already ‘said something’ about the goings-on at Parkhead.
Jim White: “If you’re Dermot Desmond, are you rattling Brendan’s cage about that comment, Simon?”
Jordan: “Well, I’m assuming he would have said something about Brendan previously, because ultimately Brendan was coming forward and saying stuff six weeks ago, wasn’t he?
“When he was getting ready to line up his excuses for the abject failure of losing to Kairat. Abject. Let’s get it categorised.
“Abject failure of the manager and the team. Not that they didn’t get enough players. You can make the argument to go deeper in the tournament and to be a better side. Yes.
“But to get past that opposition, that’s on you guys. That’s on the current framework and not anybody else.”
