Legendary US coach Bruce Arena has told Celtic there is a manager who is ‘perfect’ for the club to replace Brendan Rodgers.

Ever since Rodgers resigned from Celtic, speculation has been rife on who would be the ideal candidate to replace the Northern Irishman.

Names like Kjetil Knutsen has been linked to Celtic, as well as Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna who is fighting for promotion to the English Premier League.

So far, Celtic fans don’t appear to be convinced on whether or not these rumours are true, but it appears that Arena has the ‘perfect’ man for the Celtic board.

Celtic told Wilfried Nancy is a ‘very good fit’ for Celtic

Arena has been involved in management in the MLS since 1973, and currently the manager of San Jose Earthquakes.

He’s also managed LA Galaxy, the US National Team and DC United over his illustrious career and he has told Celtic they must hire Nancy.

Arena told The Scottish Sun, ““He’s a very organised and disciplined coach. His team is very possession oriented, attacks with numbers, very disciplined.

“I think he’d be a very good fit for Celtic in the Scottish league. He’s regarded as a top-tier coach here.

“He’s done a very good job for Columbus and is well respected.

“I think he can make the adjustment and be a very good fit in the Premiership.”

Is Wilfried Nancy really ‘perfect’ for Celtic

Who is anyone to knock a manager coming from a league that is widely regarded as of a poor standard after Ange Postecoglou arrived at Celtic and took over Scottish football.

Nancy could well be of that same mould but his inexperience compared to Postecoglou means that Celtic fans could view him as a high-risk appointment.

Until such times where Nancy gets the Celtic job, fans will continue to speculate but he does appear to have been given a huge vote of confidence by Arena.
