Celtic’s victory against Motherwell last weekend shone another light on Lennon Miller’s emergence as one of the brightest talents in Scottish football, alongside the Bhoys’ ruthlessness at Fir Park.
While the Bhoys breezed to victory against the Steelmen courtesy of goals from Luke McCowan, Alistair Johnston and Adam Idah, they did encounter a couple of close shaves in the early stages after the home side hit the woodwork twice.
Motherwell talent Lennon Miller was the man responsible for both efforts, firstly being denied by the post from range after a Celtic mix-up before seeing his free-kick rebound off the bar moments down the line.

The notion that the 18-year-old could choose to continue his development at Celtic Park in the future is nothing new; several pundits and figures in Scottish footballing circles have suggested it for months.
Emphasising that point, Peter Grant believes Miller would be ‘more than capable’ of starring at Celtic should there ever be a scenario where he moves to Glasgow. Of course, there are no firm reports that anything of that nature could happen, but speculation is only natural as he continues to thrive.
Seemingly, the former Celtic man isn’t the only one who believes the midfielder may have given Brendan Rodgers food for thought after his display last Sunday.
Tam McManus on Celtic and Lennon Miller’s potential
Speaking on PLZ Soccer, pundit Tam McManus has suggested that Rodgers may be inclined to break the bank to sign Miller after his performance on Sunday, indicating he thinks the club could ask Motherwell how much they want for their star man.
He explained: “Going back to Lennon Miller, I think Motherwell will break their transfer record with him. I look at him, 18 years old; I watched him closely yesterday for the first 25 minutes of the game, the positions he takes up, the body position, his quality on the ball, his shot off the post, his free-kick off the bar.
“At 18 years old, he’s one of the best young players I’ve seen in a while, I think Motherwell are going to get a fortune for him. They need to try and keep him as long as possible because I think he’s their best player, but I saw him two weeks ago for Scotland Under-21’s against Kazakhstan, and he scored a great goal. He’s the best young player in Scotland for me.”
Later, he said on potential future Celtic interest: “I think if you’re Celtic, you go in after the game, you ask how much do you want for him. Honestly, I think he was that good yesterday in the first half that if you’re Brendan Rodgers, or you’re the Celtic board, you go in and you say how much do you want for Lennon Miller.
“I think they’ve got the money to go in and buy him. Even if they loan him back to Motherwell for a season, I think he’s a fantastic young player. His attitude, everything about him screams quality, and I think if you’re Celtic, you go in and ask how much do you want for him.”
Lennon Miller should be someone under Celtic consideration
Most Celtic fans will be aware by now that Miller is the real deal; his Scottish Premiership statistics back up the noise surrounding his emergence onto the scene as one of the brightest talents in the country.
Stat-trackers Fotmob show he has created 20 chances, completed nine successful dribbles and taken 30 touches in the opposition penalty area, illustrating his capacity to break between the lines.
With the added carrot of being a homegrown star, any such move would also see the club inherit another valuable presence that would help to meet squad registration rules in the Champions League.
Aside from that, he would be a player at the club on merit with the scope to be an excellent asset that could benefit Celtic for the long-term.
