Celtic take on Everton in the Sydney Super Cup on Sunday, rounding off a busy week-long Bhoys trip to Australia that has served as a capper to the opening period of the season.

After the defeat to Sydney FC on Thursday with a much-rotated team, the expectation is that Ange Postecoglou names a strong initial starting eleven for this encounter, with plenty of substitutions to come in the second half.

The kick-off time is 3:45am in the UK, which is a local time in Sydney of 2:45pm.

Celtic team news and Predicted XI vs Everton

The Celtic manager shared in the wake of that loss to Sydney that Joe Hart, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Moritz Jenz had all been struggling with issues in the build-up.

However, all three were spotted back in team training at the Accor Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Stephen Welsh required stitches after a painful gash suffered in the second half of Thursday’s match, but Postecoglou didn’t seem too concerned in his post-match media duties and the defender was another in training yesterday.

With all that in mind, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Hart in the starting line-up, with a defence in front of him consisting of Anthony Ralston, Carl Starfelt, Jenz and Greg Taylor.

A midfield three of Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate and David Turnbull is also on the cards if Postecoglou truly does feel like playing his strongest offering.

In attack, that would mean Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota and Liel Abada getting the nod, though Sead Haksabanovic and Giakoumakis are also available for minutes.
