Celtic’s pre-season plans have been boosted as Middlesbrough make the trip to Glasgow on Saturday 18 July with demand for the fixture already on show.
The Parkhead club will face Shelbourne in Dublin on the 7th of July and then take a trip to the Estádio Algarve to take on Sporting Lisbon on the 14th of July.
AC Milan will then travel to Celtic Park on the 25th of July with Middlesbrough now pencilled in to visit Glasgow just before that and it looks like the Championship club will be bringing a healthy support as the ticket allocation for the pre-season friendly emerges.

Middlesbrough will bring over 7000 fans to Celtic Park
Middlesbrough make the trip to Celtic Park on Saturday 18th of July for a 3pm kick-off. It is the third fixture of Martin O’Neill’s busy 2026 summer schedule.
The game also brings together two clubs meeting for the first time since a pre-season clash in the Algarve back in 2008.
Middlesbrough have been given a healthy allocation of 7,249 tickets with more promised, should the Championship club need them.
Middlesbrough ‘delighted’ to come to Celtic Park
The interest in the fixture is already clear in the ticket allocation. It also reinforces Celtic’s role as a draw for clubs shaping their summer schedules.
Lee Fryett, Middlesbrough’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “After the success of last summer’s trip to Rangers, we’re delighted to be returning to Glasgow for what promises to be another fantastic occasion for the club.
“We understand the huge appeal of these fixtures to our supporters and will continue to explore ways to bring exciting and high-profile matches to our pre-season calendar in years to come.”
For Celtic, it is another example of how pre-season opposition is drawn to Glasgow when the calendar opens up.
For Middlesbrough, the allocation reflects just how much Celtic are in demand this summer.
