Maeda now takes time off for a well-deserved rest after the rigours of a treble season and a successful international break. The Japanese winger scored for Japan in their 4-1 win over Peru in the Kirin Cup but did sit out the 6-0 drubbing of El Salvador in the first fixture of the international break.
Under Ange Postecoglou, Maeda was an integral part of the Australian’s successful two seasons at Celtic Park. Picking up a league winners medal in his first season, Maeda then went on to win his first treble in his career helping the team’s cause with 11 goals in 49 appearances.
The Celtic winger can now look forward to next season under Brendan Rodgers where he will no doubt be hoping to play a huge part in the new Celtic manager’s new vision for the club moving forward in Europe and to successfully defend a domestic treble.
