The great thing about this Celtic squad is the camaraderie and how tightly knit they all are. Ange Postecoglou’s transfer mantra of signing not just the player but the man will stand Brendan Rodgers in good stead as he looks forward to his first training session with the players.

Because even though Postecoglou has gone, it is clear from Celtic striker, Hyeongyu Oh’s interview on Celtic TV that the players still enjoy a healthy closeness with each other.

The Korean striker was asked who he felt were his best mates in the Celtic team were and Oh said [Celtic TV], “I get along well with all of my teammates. Amongst them, with Jota, Matty O’Riley and Liel Abada.

“I also go out and enjoy meals with them. The Asian population here is quite big, so we have quite a few Asian restaurants.

“I go to the Korean restaurant pretty often.”

I thought this was an excellent interview that really showed a lot of Oh’s personality that we don’t normally get to see.

On the pitch, the 22-year-old is aggressive and determined and when he scores he is very passionate in his celebrations.

But this also interview showed a nice personal, human touch to the young man. How he spoke about his parents, how humble he is about his newfound fame in Glasgow. You can watch the full interview on the link above.

And also, like I’ve touched on here before, I love how self-critical he is about his performances even though his minutes have been limited from the bench this season. That says a lot to me about how well he wants to do for Celtic.

Oh is clearly a very likable character but his determination to do well is what really endears me to him. I hope we get to see more of him next season but to do that, he will need to rise to the challenge of competing with Kyogo for a first-team spot.

And from what I have read and written about him so far, it seems that this is a challenge he is really looking forward to.
