Celtic’s 2025/26 Europa League pot confirmed ahead of draw and who they could face

Celtic will learn who they will face in the Europa League this season.

The Hoops are in Europe’s second tier competition after losing to Kairat Almaty on penalties in the Champions League play-off round.

As a result, Brendan Rodgers’ side will now compete in the Europa League and find out their opponents in today’s draw.

Following the completion of the final round of play-off games on Thursday, Celtic’s position in the draw has been confirmed and their possible opponents too.

Celtic listed in pot two for the 2025/26 Europa League draw

Going into the draw, Celtic know that they will be in pot two for the draw.

While this means they aren’t among the top seeds for the upcoming league phase, they will still consider themselves to be one of the stronger teams and fancy their chances to make it to the main knockout phase.

Can Celtic draw Rangers in the 2025/26 Europa League?

While Celtic have to settle for pot two, Rangers have been placed into pot one – despite their embarrassing Champions League exit, losing 9-1 on aggregate to Club Brugge.

However, any chances of a Glasgow derby on the European stage are ruled out at this stage as the Europa League rules state that sides can only face a maximum of two teams from the same country and that anyone from the same domestic league cannot meet in the league phase.

This means the only chance of a Celtic vs Rangers clash is if both make it to the knockout phase.
