Celtic’s Scottish Premiership fixtures were released today and it’s caused plenty of big talking points.
Chris Sutton delivered a dose of Celtic truth to Kris Boyd as he reminded the Sky Sports pundit about the strength of the Parkhead club ahead of the new season.
Rangers boss Russell Martin dubbed the Celtic clash at Ibrox on the 31st of August as ‘exciting’ as he looks forward to his first-ever Glasgow Derby as manager.
But with the big derby game scheduled fourth in the new calendar, how do Celtic and Rangers’ first round of ten fixtures compare as the new season kick-off nears?

Celtic’s first ten fixtures of the new 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season
Celtic will open the new season at home against St Mirren and then face Aberdeen at Pittodrie and newly promoted Livingston at Celtic Park.
Then it’s off to Ibrox to face Rangers for the first Glasgow Derby of the season. After that, the fixtures are listed below:

What is weird is that Celtic will play their first two opening fixtures on a Sunday almost 24 hours after Rangers and those kick-off times are sure to draw the ire of both sets of supporters.
However, Rodgers won’t get distracted and will be fully focused on his first three fixtures before he even thinks about Rangers.
