David Strelec’s future is a hot topic right now.
Following Slovan Bratislava’s Champions League exit to Kairat Almaty, interest in the forward has peaked.
Strelec’s father confirmed Celtic were interested in the 24-year-old, who was dropped from his side’s win against Skalica at the weekend.
Middlesbrough are also interested in the Slovakia international and the latest update indicates that a move may well happen.

David Strelec likely to leave Slovan Bratislava but Celtic have made no offer
According to Slovakian media outlet, Sport.SK, there is a feeling that Strelec could leave Slovan this summer.
They added that the 24-year-old had been the subject of bids from Celtic and Middlesbrough in January, with Strelec admitting he was upset not to leave in January.
Reliable Celtic source Mark Hendry confirmed on Substack that no approach for the forward has been made by the Hoops.
He said: “Celtic have not initiated conversations over the Slovakian striker.
“His father used Celtic’s name to keep his son in the conversation for a move.
“We’re only surprised he didn’t say Celtic and Rangers, which is the classic lazy trick of generic transfer reporting.”
If Celtic really wanted David Strelec they would’ve signed him by now
All summer long, the talk has been around Celtic finding another striker.
There are four number nines to select from for Brendan Rodgers and although it would be foolish to ignore an obvious upgrade, it’s worth questioning if the Hoops really do want Strelec.
Links between the two have been well-documented for over a year but no move has ever materialised.
Maybe it’s one of those moves that is never destined to happen…
