Celtic striker Patryk Klimala won’t let missing chances affect his confidence in his ability to find the back of the net, the Celtic View reports.
Klimala has been a regular off the bench for Celtic this season, and in that time he has managed to score two goals. He has also missed some excellent chances, especially against Ross County and Motherwell.
However, the Hoops striker won’t let his confidence be affected by missing chances. He is confident that he will still find the back of the net.
“I had a few chances in the Motherwell game before the international break and my first chance against Ross County was a brilliant chance that I missed” Klimala said, as quoted in the Celtic View (Volume 56, Issue 9, Page. 20).
“Very motivated to get more”
“I should have four or five goals at this point and I’m very motivated to get more. I know if I work hard and stay calm then the goals will come” he explained.
To be fair to Klimala, he backed up his comments against Ross County, scoring with his second chance after missing his first one.
Those comments by Klimala might well endear him to Neil Lennon. Lennon will be pleased to hear that Klimala has plenty of belief in himself. All strikers should have that, but all the same, it is good to hear that Klimala won’t let missing chance stop him from playing his normal game.
Confidence could be a reason he’s not out on loan
The confidence that Klimala has could be a reason why he is getting a chance at Celtic, and hasn’t been sent on loan like Vakoun Bayo, for example.
Now Klimala looks set for another challenge, and that is to keep ahead of Leigh Griffiths in the Celtic strikers pecking order.
Normally you would expect Klimala to drop to fourth choice striker with Griffiths fit again. However, that might not have to be the case. Especially if Klimala continues to display the confidence he has in his own abilities. Only time will tell.
