Brendan Rodgers has touched on Celtic’s potential January transfer business today in his press conference before the Bhoys take on Ross County.
With the Hoops making eight summer signings costing over £30 million, they have managed to get themselves two points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a game in hand.
On Saturday afternoon, Celtic could open up a five-point lead over Aberdeen at the summit should they see off Ross County on home soil.

This week, the Champions League has been the main reference point for supporters following the Bhoys’ 1-1 draw with Club Brugge on Wednesday.
Should the reigning Scottish champions manage to progress to the playoff round, reinforcements in January could help to give Celtic some fresh energy ahead of potential further involvement in the competition.
As the transfer window creeps closer to opening for business, Brendan Rodgers has responded to questions surrounding incomings.
Brendan Rodgers on potential Celtic business in January
Speaking in his press conference ahead of facing Ross County, Rodgers has hinted that Celtic would ‘definetely’ look at bringing in fresh blood mid-season if the right opportunities present themselves on the market.
When asked about having a month to go until the January transfer window, Rodgers replied: “So, we won’t speak about it until then!”
Later, he expanded, saying: “Like everything, we would like to improve if we can. Firstly, I’m seeing the improvement of this group of players and this team here, so we brought a number of players in.”
“But of course, every window, when you can, if you can improve and the right player is available, we would certainly look at it, but there’s a lot of time for that.”
Celtic will keep transfer cards close to their chest for now
Despite links to certain players doing the rounds over the last few weeks, there hasn’t exactly been an outcry from the Celtic support for new signings when compared to last year.
Materially, the squad’s dynamic is now completely different, with competition for places in every position and a manager determined to get the best out of his group before consulting the market.
Quality over quantity will be the mantra once the window opens. However, as Rodgers has pointed out, it is about capturing the right mould of individual rather than populating for the sake of it.
There is no doubt that Celtic are in a sharp frame of mind on and off the field. While work is ongoing behind the scenes to identify targets, the club will likely keep their cards close to their chest.
