This is a huge, huge week for Celtic, given the fallout from the Kairat Almaty defeat.
Even before Celtic’s Champions League exit, there was a lot of noise around the 2025 summer transfer window and the powers that be not bringing in a proper striker.
Kyogo Furuhashi left Celtic during the winter, and supporters are still waiting for the Japan star to be replaced, but could it come in the form of a familiar face to Scottish fans?
Bojan Miovski is being linked with Celtic and Rangers, amid his struggles at Girona following his strong spell in the colours of Aberdeen.
Previously, Charlie Mulgrew was against Celtic signing Miovski, but now he has changed his mind.

Celtic told to push for Bojan Miovski signing amid Rangers rumours
Speaking on Go Radio, the topic of Miovski and his future this summer was brought up, with Barry Ferguson wanting him at Rangers and labelling him an ‘all-round right good centre-forward.’
It was then put to Mulgrew whether he would sign the 26-year-old for Celtic, and he agreed by suggesting he could be a ‘great option’ for Brendan Rodgers and a great challenger for Daizen Maeda.
Barry Ferguson: “I have always liked him. I thought the season when he left, he became an all-round right good centre-forward.
“He has gone over to the Spanish league; it hasn’t worked out. I would take him for Rangers. I don’t know what Charlie (Mulgrew) thinks about Celtic.
“But he knows the league. He was here for a number of years at Aberdeen. He knows where the back of the net is. He does the hardest thing in the game, and that’s score goals.”
Mulgrew: “Yeah (I would take him at Celtic), he holds the ball up well. A good striker. I think he would be a great option. Maybe him and one other. Or the other one could be Maeda, who backs him up, and then you still have Idah there.
“I think he could definitely do a job for Celtic or Rangers, and he would be somebody who would add to both squads.”
Miovski’s record in Scotland
For one reason or another, it hasn’t worked out for Miovski in La Liga, but the Spanish league is of a higher standard than the Scottish Premiership.
Therefore, the North Macedonia star’s struggle in Spain shouldn’t be seen as an issue, but more focus should be on his record in Scotland, and it’s pretty strong.
And remember, this was a time when the Dons were really struggling.
- Miovski’s games for Aberdeen: 98
- Goals: 44
- Assists: 7
