Charlie Mulgrew mocks Hearts fans on social media with a brutal Celtic reality check

Charlie Mulgrew appears to have triggered the Hearts fans after he mocked their club’s title challenge to Celtic.

Hearts appear to be genuine title contenders as they sit five points ahead of Celtic with nine games of the season gone.

With a trip to Tynecastle up next for Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic manager knows that a win is crucial to help stop the gap at the top widening.

But Mulgrew seems to believe that the challenge Hearts pose is a bit of a flash in the pan as he brutally mocks the Tynecastle supporters with a Celtic title prediction the Parkhead support can all get on board with.

Charlie Mulgrew predicts ‘at least’ how many points Celtic will finish ahead of Hearts

If Celtic lose to Hearts on Sunday, McInnes will see himself fire eight points ahead of Rodgers heading into November.

And, strangely, that’s exactly the same amount of points Mulgrew believes his old team will end on ahead of Hearts at the end of the season.

Taking to X, Mulgrew posted, “Enjoy 8 good results. You will be at least 8 points behind come March. I’d love nothing more than a challenge from a few teams outside of Celtic and Rangers.

“The reality is you “Dinny Ken” how it feels to win week in week out over the course of a season but good luck, eeehhhh.”

Brutal from the former Celtic defender who won five league titles and two Scottish Cups in his time at Paradise.

This isn’t the first time Mulgrew has predicted Celtic to beat Hearts to the title

The media in Scotland are loving the fact that Hearts are up there challenging Celtic and that is probably due to the fact that Rangers are such a shambles.

But at least Mulgrew has been consistent in his Celtic prediction, especially after what he said back in September.

Mulgrew said at the time on talkSPORT, “Listen, they’ve started well, Del’s [McInnes] a good manager. He’s got them playing.

“I just think they will fall away. The expectation teams like Hearts and Hibs and Aberdeen, it’s not the same as Celtic and Rangers.

“Celtic and Rangers fans demand you win every single week. And I think over time, that kind of prevails, because the intensity in Glasgow and the demands the fans put on you may drag you through and make you get results and push you to that other level.

“I don’t think it’s quite the same at Hearts and Hibs. They can draw a few games and lose a game and it’s accepted. So I don’t think they’ll stay up there.”

Celtic fans will be hoping Mulgrew is correct because the way that Rodgers’ team is playing now, the title race is wide open unless the Hoops gaffer can sort out the malaise in the first team.
