Former Celtic hero Chris Sutton’s brutal trolling of Michael Beale has continued.
The Englishman was dismissed as Rangers manager at the weekend after his side suffered a third Premiership defeat in seven matches. The Ibrox outfit are seven points behind us already as we aim for a 12th league title in 13 seasons.
Celtic supporters have certainly enjoyed the last few days as our rivals continue to flounder. That extends to ex-forward Sutton who enjoyed a long-running spat with Beale during his time in the Ibrox dugout.
As we covered at the weekend, Sutton had an immediate reaction to Beale’s departure when he tweeted: “There are some managers that are comedy acts…” That was in reference to some comments made by Beale, and Sutton has now expanded on them and thrown in a few grenades.
“Michael Beale dug me out,” he explained on the Mail’s ‘It’s All Kicking Off’ Podcast. “He said that some ex-players are comedy acts. Some pundits are comedy acts. That was aimed at me.
“Let’s look at what’s happened now. The job was too big for him.

“He said I was Chelsea’s worst-ever player. He was a Chelsea fan as a boy. I think he played for Charlton under-14s and never won anything.
“He still hasn’t won anything.” (@MailSport on Twitter)
You can tell that Sutton is enjoying having the final say in this long-running spat. He is a wind-up merchant, but someone who does it very well and usually comes out on top.
While you never want to be seen to be gloating at someone losing their job, Beale is unlikely to be struggling financially after his spell north of the border.

Celtic, meanwhile, just need to keep moving forward. Our rivals are going to make many of the headlines over the next few weeks as they search for and appoint a new manager.
Things at Celtic Park may seem very calm in comparison, but that’s good news as far as we’re concerned. Rather than look back at our rivals, we should be taking on the challenge of achieving something at Champions League level.
A win on Wednesday night would be more glorious than anything our rivals have provided us over the past few days. Let’s hope it materialises.
