Celtic star Christopher Jullien is working with a personal trainer as he ramps up towards a first-team return.

The big Frenchman has been out of action with a back problem for close to two months, last featuring in the 5-0 win against Ross County in September.

Manager Neil Lennon has already told reporters that Jullien has been abroad recently to get specialist treatment, in an attempt to find the root of the issue.

Now a personal trainer, Aimery Calkins, has provided an inside look into his recovery, posting footage on Instagram.

The player has also been active on social media himself, posting some Instagram stories from the training room he’s working in today, showing treadmill running, weight lifting and stretching exercises.

Jullien is likely still weeks away from a Celtic return.

The fact he is not back in training with his teammates suggests there’s a long way to go before we can get excited about it.

However, it is pleasing to see he is still hard at work on a Sunday and edging closer towards making a big comeback.

The 27-year-old will be a welcome addition to the defensive line and provide Lennon with different selection options.

Players such as Shane Duffy have been performing poorly recently. We know Jullien has what it takes to play consistently and win trophies with the club.

This is positive progress and hopefully helps him fit back into life at Lennoxtown seamlessly.

In other news, Mohamed Elyounousssi has brilliantly shown up Kris Boyd.
