Celtic are on course for their fourth title in a row as Rangers look for another permanent manager.
Barry Ferguson has the temporary reins of the Ibrox club after Philippe Clement was sacked after slipping 16 points behind Celtic in the title race.
Brendan Rodgers is also on the brink of another treble as Rangers meander their way through to the end of another trophyless season, whilst Ferguson is grinding out results.
With a 13-point gap still separating Celtic and Rangers, Chris Sutton has shared why he ‘would love’ to see Ferguson get the Ibrox gig permanently, and the Parkhead support will know exactly why.

Chris Sutton wants Rangers to hire Barry Ferguson ‘from a Celtic perspective’
After watching Rangers struggle against Dundee, Sutton sent Ferguson a message about his Celtic win just over two weeks ago.
And it will be for exactly this reason that the former Celtic striker wants to see the ex-Rangers captain get the Rangers job full-time in a conversation with radio co-host Robbie Savage.
Savage asked Sutton on BBC 606 [6m]: “If you were a Rangers fan, then Chris, would you let Barry Ferguson go in [as Rangers manager]?
Sutton: “No, I’m not a Rangers fan. I know you are a big Rangers fan. You often tweet out, don’t you, about Rangers when they get a draw or whatever against Celtic.”
Savage: “Let me ask you a question as a neutral admirer of Scottish football, as a neutral admirer who writes columns in all kinds of papers, would you want to see Barry Ferguson as Rangers manager?
Sutton: “Yes, I would. I would love to see Barry Ferguson as Rangers manager from a Celtic perspective.”
Why Chris Sutton wants to see Barry Ferguson go up against Celtic as Rangers boss
At Celtic, the Parkhead club have a manager in Brendan Rodgers who has vast experience in the game and knows what it takes to win titles.
With a grand total of ten domestic honours, which includes two trebles and progress in Europe in the Champions League, Rodgers is a scholar of the game.
Coupled with Celtic’s strong financial position, the Parkhead club are looking relentless this season and could be for years to come.
Rangers, on the other hand, are on the opposite side of the spectrum. Looking to cost-cut and save money, the Ibrox club need an experienced hand at the helm.
With Ferguson limping from one win to the next and with no real top-flight experience, it’s little wonder Sutton wants to see him go up against Rodgers next season as the permanent Ibrox box.
