Chris Sutton aims dig at rivals ahead of Celtic Park visit

BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has quipped that he hopes he passes security checks ahead of his visit to Celtic Park this evening.

Sutton was locked out of BT Sport’s last UEFA Europa League broadcast two weeks ago after Rangers barred him from Ibrox.

However, there will be no such concerns this evening as he joins the broadcast with Stephen Craigan, Rob Maclean, Darrell Currie, Paul Lambert and Neil Lennon.

Lennon was also denied access to Ibrox a couple of weeks ago, showing up Rangers as the petty embarrassment we know they have the potential to be.

As we discussed earlier, Celtic won’t be following suit with tonight’s Rangers-focused pundits. Ally McCoist and Derek McInnes will both be allowed into Paradise to cover the early Sparta Prague kick-off.

It’s depressing this is something you have to credit a club for in this day and age. But that’s the environment Rangers have created.

The fixture is all set to produce an exciting night at Paradise, with the club also announcing a sell-out of tickets for the occasion.

Almost 60,000 people will be packed inside Paradise, including a contingent of Bayer Leverkusen supporters making the trip from Germany. It’s the first time away fans will have visited Celtic Park for over 18 months.

Let’s hope Ange Postecoglou’s side can silence them!
