Chris Sutton says he is hearing Celtic’s move for Shane Duffy could be a “possibility”.
The former Hoops forward admits he was unsure about the prospect of the Irish international moving to Glasgow at first, but now it could be a goer.
Sutton was speaking on BT Sport’s Scottish Football Extra (Friday, 18:35) alongside host Darrell Currie and Ally McCoist.
“I think that would be a really good piece of business if Celtic can get that over the line,” the Englishman said.

“At first when the rumours came out, I thought that can’t be possible.
“But the longer this goes, I’m hearing there may be a possibility of him coming in.
“And if he does come in I think Ally will be worried for his team.”
Duffy would add steel to Celtic back line
It is intriguing to hear that Sutton has been “hearing” the move could come off.
The former forward is well connected down south so anything he says should be taken on board.
We spoke with another former Hoops favourite Jackie McNamara earlier this week on the 67 Hail Hail YouTube channel.
Jackie shared his thoughts on our potential move for Duffy and the prospect of us having to pay £2million just to loan the 28-year-old for a season. (Daily Mail)
Brighton’s Duffy would certainly be a popular Celtic signing, judging by the comments made by fans and former players.
We all recognise that we need to add some steel at the back.
Hopefully he is the man to do that.
In other news, Celtic have wished club legend Henrik Larsson all the best in his new role at Barcelona.
