Celtic beat Dundee United comprehensively ahead of their big Champions League tie vs Bayern Munich.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will have been delighted with the Hoops’ performance in the Dundee United win as he stretches his lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

With Celtic looking forward to their Champions League tie against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, Hoops hero Chris Sutton has already made a big starting XI call after spotting a tactical tweak Rodgers made in the win over Dundee United.

Chris Sutton makes Adam Idah starting prediction for Celtic vs Bayern Munich

Sutton told Sky Sports, “I suppose Brendan Rodgers has a decision to make with the game in the week against Bayern Munich.

“You know, I think both players can adapt. Idah has actually played off the wide area when he was at Norwich City.

“I’ve got to say that was a tremendous strike. I think he’ll keep Adam Idah as a centre forward, a focal point, a reference point, someone to get the team up the pitch.

“But I understand that the clamour for Daizen Maeda as he’s in a golden vein, rich vein of form, isn’t he.”

Daizen Maeda’s Celtic Champions League record vs Adam Idah

Both Maeda and Idah have been integral cogs in Celtic’s performances in the Champions League this season.

However, with a two-goal win needed in Germany, who will Rodgers start up front considering the problems the Japanese winger caused when he was pushed into the forward role in the final quarter of Celtic’s defeat to Bayern Munich?

Here is how both attackers have performed for Celtic in the Champions League so far:

With half the appearances of Maeda, Idah has almost the same number of goals. Whilst Maeda is likely to start on the wing, what this has proven is that Rodgers has good options available to him for the Herculean task of beating Bayern Munich next week.
