That’s just the news Celtic fans wanted to hear ahead of the visit of Bayern Munich in the Champions League!
If you think about it, there was no need for Daizen Maeda to play 90 minutes for Celtic against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup over the weekend.
But then again, Brendan Rodgers did that because he had it in mind that his Japan superstar wouldn’t be available for the first leg of Celtic’s Champions League tie against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Maeda netted a hat-trick against Raith Rovers to further prove why he is perhaps Celtic’s best player this season.
It was putting a dampener on things because, not only is Maeda Celtic’s form player right now, but he is perhaps the Player of the Year in Scotland.
But then Celtic brought the news every fan wanted to hear and read on Monday evening!
Celtic win red card appeal for Daizen Maeda to face Bayern Munich in Champions League
Days before the Bayern game, the powers that be at Parkhead made the appeal, won it and reduced that two-game ban to one.
It now means that Maeda will be available for the first leg and ready to run around the pitch like a charged-up battery that never runs out.
This is huge of the highest order because this could now prove to be the difference between Celtic walking away from the first leg empty-handed to going to Munich with a lead.

‘Celtic FC tonight confirmed that it has successfully appealed Daizen Maeda’s two-match suspension. The original suspension has been reduced to one match, meaning Daizen is available to play on Wednesday at Celtic Park,’ wrote a club statement.
Chris Sutton’s two-word reaction to Maeda news
As you can imagine, news started to spread about Maeda’s availability, with the Celtic fans over the moon and delighted about it all.
Whilst many of the Parkhead faithful were overjoyed by the news and couldn’t contain their excitement on social media.
Former striker Chris Sutton was pretty modest with his response on Twitter and he had a simple two-word reaction to it all.
‘Good news,’ wrote Sutton to Maeda’s availability.
